Interactive Starry Night

The Greek artist Petros Vellis has changed one of the most famous paintings of van Gogh into an interactive piece of art. Thanks to technology, the audience is now able to touch and play with Starry Night of the famous and notorious artist Vincent van Gogh. ...so little time.

Thanks to Google, we don't have to travel the world anymore to see the most important paintings. Since 2011 we can virtually walk around the famous art museums like Metropolitan Museum of Art / New York, Nationalgalerie / Berlin, Tate Britain / London or Rijksmuseum / Amsterdam.

Over 1000 artwoks are presentend in a high resolution, which also enables us to zoom in and look at the wonderful details. 

Having a Google-account, we can even create our own little art gallery, save it and share our favorite masterpieces with our friends.

(Virtual) Reality

Recently, we discovered two museums who deal with attractive technological aspects in their presentation. The aim is not only to involve the, sometimes fast-consuming, visitors in a special and cheerful way, but also to inspire by connecting the cultural heritage of art & history with virtuality.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC, is presenting every week two videos of an artwork which is explained by an curator. The webseries, called 82^nd&Fifth can be found here.

The Cleveland Museum of Art demonstrates an interactive way of experiencing the museum’s collection. How this is achieved can be seen here

We believe that those examples give the direction to what museums have to offer in order to engage and appeal their visitors.
